I need someone who is a software expert to give me information on the best course of action for developing my next project.

At this stage I need to get feedback from people who create products for

PC- Windows
MAC
LINUX

My software will be a digital protection software that will be a wrapper for ( PDFs, exe ebooks, software without the code needing to be touched )

Now I want it to work on PC and Mac and possibly Linux

Now I have seen software out there that is an EXE file but it only works on windows http://tinyurl.com/26cnm5q this is actually an exe file you download and the software lets you add products, and create a locked version which is unlocked using a licence code that is given after your locked product is bought. The licence code is checked against their server and if ok it unlocks it

Im thinking of getting my software made in ADOBE Air because that works with all 3, windows, mc and linux a bit like tweedeck uses adobe air and only has 1 file to download and it works on all 3 platforms.

So What I need you to tell me is, is it possible for an application to be made in adobe air that can take unprotected digital files and protect them, this way allowing me to give just 1 file out to people an adobe air application?

If No, why not? and if not, what is the solution would I need to have 2 files made a Exe and a DMG file if i wanted it to work on pc and mac?

If yes, I will be putting a new project online in the next 24hrs with details of what I will want.

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Worker in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement).

• All deliverables must be uploaded to Rent A Coder before the deadline(s) for this bid request...with no exceptions. If this contract makes it impossible for a competent person to do this, then do not start this bid request...but instead alert Rent A Coder of an un-arbitratable, illegal bid request.
  
• Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business bid requests <$500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and worker agreements.
