We need a networking web site that will allow a student to locate another student in a library and help in form a group to study together. They should be able to communicate and schedule study groups in a library and quary the details including Google maps etc. Here is more details.
A web site suite that serves as an online community platform from which users can utilize different applications such as Chat/Schedule groups with date /time/location. Import users data and picture high level during registration from Facebook and mySpace and that will help them in times of study or work in any of MSU’s Libraries.Applications and services include (but not limited to):
1- Account creation (log in information, profile, subjects user is taking...)
2- Messaging and communication between users (personal messages, e-mail, preset messages)
3- The ability of users to the choose there location within the library and identify the location of other users (map).
4- A database that allows us to recognize :
Users who are studying the same subject or homework.Users who are joining to form groups.
5- A search engine that provides information on users who are studying different subjects.Possible Users:
Students: who will use this website to:1- Get help and assistance from other students or faculty or tutors.
2-Form study groups,3- Communicate with friends
-Faculty: may use this website to see how many students are studying for a certain subject and may offer help.
-Tutors: can use this website to locate and communicate with students who may need help in a certain subject.
Registers users can send email/IM message for asking and granting permission to other users for attending the group for studies. History of this should be displayed. For scheduled item timely notification must be sent for reminder.Users can Query and display result using the Google Map and show how many users are scheduled for a specific location.The Group can be driven by Subject (Math 101) that they are studying. So every time only 1 subject can be active for a user for what he is studying. He has the option to change his class of loging from dropdown.
