Brief Summary:

We recently had an iphone application created for us. This project is for the following modifications of this application.

NOTE: LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCES CODERS IN IPHONE ONLY

Background on app:
App displays items on sale in different grocery stores. It uses GPS to display stores within a 5 mile radius. User can then select store and see items for sale.

Project Tasks:
1.) Increase the speed at which the app pulls in grocery store items from our mysql db - currently is uses XML feed (there might be a better way)

Currently, the app pulls in 10 items at a time, and then user can choose to load more items, but this is extremely slow and likely related to image downloads.

I found another similar app, which displays text AND then downloads the images second. This is one way to solve the issue.

The feed to the iphone app is done via XML feed, I am not sure if this is best way to communicate with the DB. If not, please fix this and create new method of transferring data from db to app.

2.) Update design of the app to something more appealing. I have attached screenshots of a similar app, I would like it to look like this.

3.) Add additional functionality. I would like users to be able to "save" items to a favorite list. The favorite list will work exactly like screenshots of similar app, except that the items must be separated by store.

Second, must add a screen (after users chooses store) to display categories, like Bread, Dairy, Meats Etc.

4.) Fix any issues with the code, anything that could prevent app from being approved in app store or anything that was coded poorly.

5.) Help fix any issues apple responds (since it will take some time for apple to respond, once app is submitted in app store, we will release 90% of funds, the additional 10% will be released when app is approved)

6.) One final small thing, in the similar app referenced in this project (screenshots attached), when an item is "added" to cart, the app visually displays the item "falling" into the cart. I would like this on our app as well.

Note: I have a developer account, so I will submit the application to app store.

Note: Please look at the following app, we would like to our app to look and function like this one: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/shoprite-weekly-specials/id335996545?mt=8
