Brief Summary:

I have had a graphic designer create a home page for the website.  I need this page to be coded and ten similar sub pages to be built out that compliment the home page.  I need the first 10 pages of the site to be live ASAP.  My absolute cut off date is no later than 5/7/10.

This can turn into a nice project for someone who is good and looking for steady ongoing work.  My goal is to set up a long-term relationship with two coders/developers that are true professionals who take pride in their work and keep to their promised deliverable dates.

Requirements Interview Answers:
To help you bid more accurately, the buyer was interviewed about the requirements for this bid request. Below are their answers. Untitled Page
Bid request Type: What kind of work do you need done?
Software related (Includes desktop applications and internet websites)
Bid request Parts: What do you want the worker to do on this bid request?
Requirements: The worker will analyze the problem and propose a software-based solution to the problem.
Programming: The worker will take the requirements and translate them into the language of the computer (and test it).
User installation: The installer will move the software from the place it was created (which is called the development or QC environment) to where you will use it (which is called the production environment). The installer then tests the software to make sure that the installation was done properly and completely.
Req. Doc. Type: What kind of documentation do you want for this bid request?
Formal documentation - After talking back and forth, the worker creates a formal document and/or prototype, as follows:
  • Prototype: The analyst will create a non-working mockup of all pages/screens in the final software. Creating a prototype makes it easier for the user to visualize the final software, and reduces misunderstandings.
Program Type: What kind of software should the worker create (and/or install)?
  • An internet web-site: This software runs on a web server and users will access it using their internet browser.
Internet web-site info
Design and functionality: What does the programming of this bid request involve?
  • Design: Create the layout of the pages (or modify the layout of existing pages).
  • Program Functionality: Making the website "work".
Modeling another site: Do you wish to model another site? No
Size of website: How many pages need to be created/edited in this website?
Approximately 11.
Programming Language: What programming language(s) do you want your website written in?
I don't know what language (and need the worker's assistance to suggest it).
Other info:I would like the site to be programmed in whatever is the most widely used programming language for sites that is going to be mainly content with some videos.  I would imagine PHP and SQL for the database (to be developed in the future) or if you think something else please state your reasoning for another as I am not proficent in this area.
Database: Will this bid request include a database?
I'm not sure (and need the worker to advise me).
Other info:I believe I will not need one in this first phase of the project but will need one definitely in the future.  Right now I am thinking to use MySQL but would like feedback on this from whomever I work with on the project.
Browser Type(s)/Version(s): Which browser/version combinations must this website support?
  • IE 7.0
  • IE 6.0
  • Firefox 3.0
  • Firefox 2.0-2.x
  • Firefox 1.5

I don't know and need the worker to suggest a 3rd party hosting company server.
Details:Would like a recommendation from whoever I work with on this.
Server Hosting Environment: Will the worker develop "live" on your server?
No. The worker is responsible for creating their own development and/or qc environment.
Physical installation: Who will perform the physical installation?
The worker will perform the physical installation, and will be given all necessary permissions to do so.
Legal: 1) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
