Description: we have a small web application that is an important asset for our company. The app is written in PHP. We have 2 servers from different providers. One server is in US, another server is in Italy. Currently the web application is mounted on the US server. The web app is reached by pointing the browser to a domain like xxx.yyy.it Every night a script copies the database of the web app to the italian server. In this way, even if the US hardware crashes, data will be preserved. We would like to copy the whole application to the italian server and to create a new domain, like zzz.yyy.it The new domain will point to the alternate instance of the web app. When trying to reach the alternate instance of the web app, the user should see a page saying: 'this server is not currently in use. Please reach xxx.yyy.it In case of need, we should be able to quickly start the alternate web app. This means of course that instead of the greeting page, the regular app should start. When the emergency ends, we should be able to quickly reverting the operation: now the greeting page is displayed and the users are invited to reach the original site. The opposite goes for xxx.yyy.it : in case of need we should be able to setup a greeting page etc. Any better solution is welcome. The selected coder will work together with a technician here until the solution is fully operative. Database is Firebird 1.5 . This database service is already running on the target (italian) server Ubuntu linux 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Worker in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement).
